Our charge was to create a signature piece for the department’s presence at the Academy’s annual Spring Show, a showcase of the best student work from all of its different disciplines. The project involved an AR mural projected onto a wall with conductive ink and 3 planter boxes with embedded IoT sensors. By touching different parts of the conductive mural outlines, users were able to get information about the plants like ph level, soil moisture, and last time watered. Other parts of the mural triggered animations with sound effects like rainstorms and flowers blooming. There were also 3 additional planters with non-conductive outlines that worked with a custom AR iOS app.

<div
